From Oct. 25 to Dec. 6, 2024,<\/strong> the exhibition \u201cROME, crossroads of pilgrimages and humanity<\/strong>\u201d will take place in all the rooms of the Pontifical Shrine of the Shroud<\/strong>, as a real journey between images and words.<\/h3>

In what is considered the holiest place in the world, the shrine that holds the Holy Staircase<\/strong>, on whose steps, according to tradition, Jesus passed several times on the day of his Passion, both the precious Chapel of the Popes<\/strong>, known as the Sancta Sanctorum<\/em>, where the image of the Savior is kept.<\/p>

The exhibition will present contemporary artworks by Francesca Cataldi<\/strong>, Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> and Giancarlo Frison<\/strong>, highlighting the universal theme of pilgrimage and a series of photographs showing details of Roman churches: these highlight the veneration given to the early Christian martyrs, the rootedness of the Marian cult, the impact and role of light in architectural spaces and the expression of popular devotion.<\/p>

At the center of the entire Christian community, like the Lateran area, the contribution of the arts invites recollection and meditation, away from the hubbub of the capital, in preparation for the opening of the Jubilee year.<\/p>

The work of Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> chosen for this exhibition is the Pilgrim’s Cane<\/strong>, an unfailing element for those who undertake the journey. At the top is a reproduction of the original of his pilgrim’s Cross<\/strong>, first modeled in blindness, then \u201ctouched with the eyes<\/em>\u201d: the shell, which contains it, is uncovered, and the perforation of the centurion’s spear is added, becoming a channel of light.
The extension of the Cross is converted precisely in the cane for the journey: and then, despite the loneliness, physical fatigue, and sense of inadequacy, the pilgrim can turn to the support of the staff, which evokes the certainty of the Salvation granted by Jesus’ sacrifice.<\/p>

Dal 25 ottobre al 6 dicembre 2024<\/strong>, avr\u00e0 luogo il percorso espositivo \u201cROMA, crocevia di pellegrinaggi e di umanit\u00e0<\/strong>\u201d in tutte le sale del Pontificio Santuario della Sindone<\/strong>, come un vero e proprio viaggio tra immagini e parole.<\/h3>
In quello che \u00e8 considerato il luogo pi\u00f9 sacro del mondo, il santuario che custodisce la Scala Santa<\/strong>, sui cui gradini, secondo la tradizione, Ges\u00f9 pass\u00f2 pi\u00f9 volte nel giorno della sua Passione, sia la preziosa Cappella dei Papi<\/strong>, detta Sancta Sanctorum<\/em>, dove \u00e8 conservata l’immagine del Salvatore.<\/p>
La mostra presenter\u00e0 opere d’arte contemporanea di Francesca Cataldi<\/strong>, Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> e Giancarlo Frison<\/strong>, evidenziando il tema universale del pellegrinaggio e una serie di fotografie che mostrano dettagli delle chiese romane: questi evidenziano la venerazione rivolta ai primi martiri cristiani, il radicamento del culto mariano, l\u2019impatto e il ruolo della luce negli spazi architettonici e l\u2019espressione della devozione popolare.<\/p>
Al centro di tutta la comunit\u00e0 cristiana, come l’area del Laterano, l’apporto delle arti invita al raccoglimento e alla meditazione, lontano dal frastuono della capitale, in preparazione all’apertura dell’anno giubilare.<\/p>
L’opera di Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> scelta per questa mostra \u00e8 il Bastone del Pellegrino<\/strong>, elemento immancabile per chi intraprende il viaggio. Alla sommit\u00e0 vi \u00e8 la riproduzione del suo originale della Croce del pellegrino<\/strong>, prima modellata in cecit\u00e0, poi \u201ctoccata con gli occhi\u201d<\/em>: vi si scopre la conchiglia, che lo contiene, e viene aggiunta la perforazione della lancia del centurione che si trasforma in canale di luce.
Il prolungamento della Croce diventa proprio il bastone per il cammino: e allora, nonostante la solitudine, la fatica fisica e il senso di inadeguatezza, il pellegrino pu\u00f2 ricorrere al sostegno del bastone, che evoca la certezza della Salvezza concessa dal sacrificio di Ges\u00f9.<\/p>

Del 25 de octubre al 6 de diciembre de 2024<\/strong>, la exposici\u00f3n \u00abROMA, encrucijada de peregrinaciones y de humanidad<\/strong>\u00bb tendr\u00e1 lugar en todas las salas del Santuario Pontificio de la S\u00e1bana Santa<\/strong>, como un aut\u00e9ntico viaje a trav\u00e9s de im\u00e1genes y palabras.<\/h3>
En lo que se considera el lugar m\u00e1s sagrado del mundo, el santuario que alberga la Escalera Santa<\/strong>, por cuyos pelda\u00f1os, seg\u00fan la tradici\u00f3n, Jes\u00fas pas\u00f3 varias veces el d\u00eda de su Pasi\u00f3n, y la preciosa Capilla de los Papas<\/strong>, conocida como Sancta Sanctorum,
donde se conserva la imagen del Salvador.<\/p>
La exposici\u00f3n presentar\u00e1 obras de arte contempor\u00e1neo de Francesca Cataldi<\/strong>, Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> y Giancarlo Frison<\/strong>, que destacan el tema universal de la peregrinaci\u00f3n, y una serie de fotograf\u00edas que muestran detalles de iglesias romanas: en ellas se pone de relieve la veneraci\u00f3n de los primeros m\u00e1rtires cristianos, el arraigo del culto mariano, el impacto y el papel de la luz en los espacios arquitect\u00f3nicos y la expresi\u00f3n de la devoci\u00f3n popular.<\/p>
En el centro de toda la comunidad cristiana, como el recinto de Letr\u00e1n, la aportaci\u00f3n
de las artes invita al recogimiento y la meditaci\u00f3n, lejos del bullicio de la capital, para preparar la apertura del a\u00f1o jubilar.<\/p>
La obra de Guido Dettoni della Grazia<\/strong> elegida para esta exposici\u00f3n es el Bast\u00f3n del Peregrino<\/strong>, elemento esencial para quienes emprenden el camino. En la parte superior hay una reproducci\u00f3n de su Cruz del Peregrino<\/strong> original, modelada primero a ciegas, y luego \u00abtocada con los ojos<\/em>\u00bb: se descubre la concha que la contiene y se a\u00f1ade la perforaci\u00f3n de la lanza del centuri\u00f3n, que se convierte en un canal de luz.
La prolongaci\u00f3n de la Cruz se convierte precisamente en el bast\u00f3n: y entonces, a pesar de la soledad, la fatiga f\u00edsica y el sentimiento de insuficiencia, el peregrino puede recurrir al apoyo del bast\u00f3n, que evoca la certeza de la Salvaci\u00f3n concedida por el sacrificio de Jes\u00fas.<\/p>
